Acknowledges he was approached a few months ago by people about making the jump to municipal politics.
Vincent Marissal, Québec solidaire MNA for the Montreal riding of Rosemont, told reporters on Thursday he’s flattered his name is making the rounds as a possible mayoral candidate and successor to Valérie Plante, and he didn’t completely shut the door to it happening.
But less than 24 hours after Plante informed the public she would not seek a third term as mayor, Marissal said it is simply too soon for him to make a decision on whether to seek the job.
“I would need to have a discussion with myself,” he said.
Marissal acknowledged he was approached a few months ago by people about making the jump to municipal politics, but has since put any idea of doing so on the back burner.
He also noted he’s very happy in his work as a provincial politician.
“Do I like my job here in Quebec City? The answer is YES, all in capital letters. I adore my job here,” he said.
