A 17-year-old woman and 23-year-old man who were in the apartment at the time of the shooting were not injured.
A 23-year-old man was recovering in hospital from at least one gunshot wound Thursday. He was shot late Wednesday in an apartment on St-Zotique St. in the borough of St-Léonard.
Montreal police said they received a 911 call reporting the incident around 11 p.m. Officers found the victim conscious and wounded at least once in the upper body. Medical authorities said the man’s life was not in danger.

At least one suspect involved in the attack fled the scene in a car before police arrived.
A police canine unit has been deployed and the investigation was continuing Thursday morning.
