A local 48-year-old shop owner, who doesn’t want to be named, told Metro: ‘There was screaming and shouting and a commotion and a fight, people who live on the street told me.

‘The person had tried to get away on their moped but they didn’t get far.

‘The sad thing is that it’s nothing unusual, every other day there’s an incident. Everything just goes under the radar here.

‘I won’t let my wife walk home alone at night, the last thing I want is for her to be harassed by a group of young people and for her to get cut up.’

A local named Wes said there’s been multiple murders within a mile of Deonte’s killing in the last six months.

‘I’ve lived in North London my whole life. I’m not scared to live here.’ he said.

‘But I just think, what sort of life are these kids living where they’re stabbing eachother on the street.’

‘I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed, or has footage of, any part of this incident.

‘A number of crime scenes remain in place while we continue with our enquiries, and I would like to thank local residents in advance for their patience.
