The final weekend before Halloween is here, and Calgary has a full lineup of events to celebrate the holiday.
Here are five Halloween-themed events happening in the city this weekend.
ZooBOO
The Calgary Zoo is hosting a two-day Halloween event this weekend. The family-friendly celebrations include costumes, an interactive mural, treat stations and more. The zoo’s theatre group will also be doing themed shows in the EXMAX Conservatory all day. Entry into ZooBOO is included with zoo admission.

When: Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Le Cirque de la Nuit Presents: Odditorium
This 18+ event takes a look into the dark side of the carnival, encouraging guests to unleash their inner carnival freak. The experience offers eclectic music, a dance floor and interactive human oddities. K+Lab and Def3 are the headlining artists.

12-hour Halloween movie marathon
The Globe cinema is hosting a 12-hour movie marathon ahead of Halloween, featuring seven horror movies from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next morning. Movie-goers are free to come to as many films as they want throughout the night, and encouraged to come in costume as there will be a costume contest and other Halloween surprises. This event is 18+ and will have a bar and concession.

Tricks and Treats of the Wild: Family Halloween hike
On this all-ages Halloween hike, CPAWS blends outdoor education with spooky entertainment. Learn about local wildlife while participating in themed activities, such as a costume contest, pumpkin hunt, storytelling station and more. There will be a hot chocolate station halfway through the hike, and hosts encourage hikers to bring their own mugs to reduce waste.

Cost: $10 (children under 18 are free)
The Barn Halloween market
The Barn Artisan Halloween market features over 30 local vendors, spread out over two floors. Visitors are encouraged to visit in costume as there will be treats for children and adults. Admission into the market is free.
