Trump’s McDonald’s shift: Letters to the Editor — Oct. 23, 2024

The Issue: Donald Trump’s campaign event at a McDonald’s franchise in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Former President Donald Trump’s appearance at a McDonald’s was a brilliant, fun campaign stunt (“A drive-thru straight to the White House,” Oct. 22).

The customer who pleaded, “Don’t let the US turn into Brazil,” said it all.

And by the way, Harris’ visit to the southern border was also a stunt.

But unfortunately, she is already our vice president, and the border crisis isn’t nearly as funny.

McDonald’s can’t recall what, if any, work Harris did for them as a teenager (“Mickey D’s can’t recall Kam’s work,” Oct. 22)

I think the majority of Americans feel the same way about her tenure as vice president.

The good old Democrats and the left: Illegal immigrants slaughtering US citizens, who cares?

Antisemites spewing hate on campuses, what’s the problem?

Hundreds of thousands of black babies being aborted, no biggie.

But Trump slinging fries at McDonald’s?

That keeps them up at night.

Trump’s McDonald’s stunt was a genius move.

He’s a great campaigner; it was a chance to see what he’s really like.

Trump says Harris can’t prove she worked at McDonald’s as a teenager.

If you’re 50 or over, raise your hand if you can prove where you worked as a teen.

If you can’t, and support Trump, give yourself a slap.

Trump spent some time “working” at McDonald’s a bit later in life than Harris supposedly did.

If his current job bid fails in November, he could look for permanent work there.

He’s handy with the salt shaker and would have expert menu knowledge.

There are even a few characters he could play: The Hamburglar, since Trump tried to steal the 2020 election; Grimace, the well-meaning simpleton; even Ronald McDonald, the yellow clown.

There are better ways to get publicity when you’re out begging for votes.

The Issue: House Speaker Mike Johnson’s criticism of the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies.

It is time to acknowledge that the Biden-Harris administration is solely to blame for the border crisis (“Joe Mexican’t or Mexiwon’t?,” Oct. 19).

And it is time to take the blinders off and admit that Vice President Kamala Harris is a puppet for anti-American progressive liberals.

Voters must see how much former President Donald Trump loves the United States, and, on Election Day, we must stand up for our Constitution and democracy.

Thank goodness we have patriots like House Speaker Mike Johnson, who complains about President Biden’s border policies.

He does this after he helped kill a bipartisan border bill on orders from former President Donald Trump.

In June, 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray was sexually assaulted and killed.

Two illegal immigrants from Venezuela have been charged with murder in her death.

She would be alive today if the Biden-Harris administration had left Trump’s border policies in place.

Instead, during its first year, the Biden-Harris administration implemented 89 executive orders that swung our nation’s door wide open to millions of illegal immigrants.
