Wild video shows American Airlines plane sucking up cargo container on tarmac

Wild surveillance video has captured the moment an American Airlines plane sucked a cargo container into its engine — tearing it completely to shreds.

The caught-on-camera saga unfolded just moments after the flight from London had touched down at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport last Thursday, ABC7 reported.

The plane had stopped on the tarmac as a cargo driver hauling a train of four containers whizzed in front, according to a CCTV clip circulating on social media.

As the cargo passed by the plane’s engine, three of the containers immediately flew off and quickly tumbled towards the aircraft, the video shows.

One of the containers was sucked into the engine, sending bits of debris flying into the air.

The other two were flung off further down the tarmac.

Photos of the aftermath showed bits of steel scrap still stuck in the engine as crews inspected the damage.

No one was injured but the Federal Aviation Administration is still probing the ordeal.

Meanwhile, a luggage container also struck a Jet Blue at the Chicago airport last Tuesday — leaving the plane’s engine cover with a huge dent.

That incident unfolded when the plane was taxing to the gate after landing from Boston.
