Darts legend Andy Fordham would reportedly sink 20-plus bottles of beer before getting on stage during his playing days – and one of the sport’s emerging stars has revealed a ‘record’ of his own to rival that of the great man.

Kevin Mills has been making a splash on debut at the MODUS Super Series this week, picking up three wins from five in an eye-catching showing at Portsmouth’s MODUS Live Lounge.

But it is Mills’ accomplishments off the oche which have really got darts fans talking, with the 34-year-old’s remarkable eating habits leaving viewers aghast.

During his 4-1 defeat to the Dutchman Danny Jansen, it was claimed on commentary that Mills’ extraordinarily beige diet consisted purely of bread and crisps.

More shocking than that, though, Mills – who snubbed a hog roast in favour of a crisp butty on his own wedding day – once got through a total of 46, yes FORTY SIX, packets of crisps in a single day.

‘Kevin Mills has a very interesting diet, a diet that he even used on his wedding day, which involves two ingredients and that’s all he eats in his life. Two ingredients: bread and crisps,’ the commentator watching on from Portsmouth explained.

‘On his wedding day everybody else had a hog roast and he was sat there with a crisp sandwich. Just imagine that!

‘I wonder what Christmas dinner is like round his house. Everybody has got all the turkey and the trimmings, it’s a massive meal, and he’s sat there with a crisp sandwich with a bit of butter.

‘He’s told us that his record for most packets of crisps in one day is 46.

‘He’s had 46 packets of crisps in one day!’

The MODUS Super Series’ official account on X, formerly Twitter, went on to reveal that Mills’ crisp flavour of choice was either ready salted or cheese and onion.

Mills finds himself third in Group A after five matches, with John Henderson and Jansen sitting first and second respectively on the first day of action.

The player who finishes in first place after three sessions qualifies directly for finals night on Saturday.

Groups B and C get underway on Thursday, with six spots up for grabs in total ahead of finals night.
