Former Giants running back Saquon Barkley responded to boos every time he touched the ball in his return to MetLife Stadium on Sunday with a long rushing burst and a short touchdown in the second quarter to open the scoring for the Eagles.
The two-time Pro Bowler was booed heavily before Philadelphia’s first offensive possession, and he was held to 17 yards on six carries in the first quarter.
But Barkley, who signed a three-year contract worth $37.75 million in free agency, broke a 55-yard run down the left sideline in the second quarter before scoring his sixth touchdown of the season (and fifth on the ground) from 3 yards up the middle with 8:58 left before halftime.

The Giants, meanwhile, punted on each of their first six possessions and attempted five rushes for just 9 yards during that span as they trailed 14-0 late in the second quarter.
