Pete Alonso hit a three-run homer off Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty in the bottom of the first inning to give the Mets a 3-0 lead in Game 5 of the NLCS.
Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo also scored on the blast after they reached on a single and walk, respectively.
The Mets still have a mountain to climb as the Dodgers lead 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.
The home run broke an 0-for-17 streak the Mets had with runners in scoring position.
It is possible that Friday’s game is Alonso’s last with the Mets, as he’s a free agent after the season.
