It’s the first year for its new inline-six engines and 4×4 only, and now it’s less expensive too
- Ram is dropping the price of its 2025 Ram 1500 by $4,000 across all trims except the RHO
- The 2025 model comes in Quad or Crew Cab, and is 4×4-only
- The Hemi V8 is gone, replaced by a turbocharged inline-six in two power outputs, plus an entry V6
The Ram 1500 is available in Quad Cab with 6-foot-4 bed, or in Crew Cab with 5-foot-7 or 6-foot-4 bed – there’s no two-door regular cab offered – and, as mentioned, comes only with four-wheel drive.
The entry engine is a 3.6L “Pentastar” V6 that makes 315 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It comes with a self-charging mild hybrid system, dubbed eTorque, that improves fuel efficiency and acceleration performance, but can’t drive on electricity alone.
For 2025, Ram retired its 5.7L Hemi V8 in favour of a twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder, called a “Hurricane” engine. Depending on the trim, it’s available in standard version making 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque; or a high-output version making 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque – both of them far more powerful than the outgoing V8. Also as before, the Ram 1500 uses rear coil springs, and offers an active four-corner air suspension. Towing capacity across the lineup tops out at 11,580 lbs.
With the $2,195 delivery fee and $100 federal A/C tax factored in – but before sales tax or any additional dealer fees – the 2025 Ram lineup now starts at $58,740 for the Tradesman Quad Cab, and $62,240 for the Big Horn in Quad Cab. Crew Cab models, again with those fees included, range from $60,240 for the Tradesman trim, to $106,240 for the top Tungsten trim.
