There is major disruption on the rails and roads this morning after heavy rain caused flash flooding last night.
There were yellow weather warnings in place for rain across the west of the UK yesterday, bringing thunderstorms and lightning along for the ride.
Commuters are waking up to severe flooding across a number of routes on the Transport for Wales network this morning, causing delays of up to an hour and cancellations across Wales.
There has also been flooding in the Wolverhampton area, blocking railway lines there.
On the roads, the A49 in Shropshire is closed in both directions due to the flood water.
The road is blocked between the B4368 near Craven Arms and the B4371 near Church Stretton, and traffic is being diverted via local roads.

Trains through Warrington Central running at reduced speeds
Heavy flooding in the Warrington area means trains are running slower than normal through Warrington Central.
This is affecting all Northern and TransPennine Express services between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street.
Network Rail are on site and it’s thought disruption could last until 9am.
Passengers are facing delays of up to half an hour.
Speed restrictions on Scottish rail lines
There are speed restrictions in place on two rail lines in Scotland this morning due to the extremely heavy rain we’ve had over the last 24 hours.
The East Coast Main Line between Grantshouse and Berwick, and the Aberdeen to Dundee line between Laurencekirk and Portlethen are both running at reduced speeds until 8.30am.
Changes to Merseyrail services due to flooding
Rail replacement buses are in operation between Chester & Ellesmere Port and Rock Ferry from the start of service.
Ticket acceptance is still in place on Transport for Wales services which are also affected by flooding.
Two lanes closed on M2 due to vehicle fire
Two out of three lanes are currently closed on the M2 Londonbound carriageway due to a vehicle on fire.
The closure is located between junctions 4 for Gillingham and 3 for the A229 and Kent Highways have warned drivers to expect delays in the area.
Lightning damage between Southend Central and Shoeburyness
c2c services between London Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness are being disrupted after lightning hit the electricity supply and caused damage.
Passengers can expect cancellations, delays of up to 20 minutes, or revisions to timetabled trains.
Flooding between Crewe and Chester/Runcorn could cause problems until the end of the day
All railway lines in this area have been disrupted, causing cancellations and half-hour delays for passengers.
This is affecting Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway customers.
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.
You can use your ticket on East Midlands Railway, Northern and Merseyrail between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street.
Flooded railway lines causing delays between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury all morning
Flooding between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury is causing disruption on Transport for Wales and West Midlands Railway services running between those stations.
There will be a limited hourly rail service will operate between Wolverhampton and Wellington, with rail replacement transport between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.
The disruption here is expected to last until 1pm.

‘Major disruption’ to Transport for Wales network expected to last all morning
Flooding is causing major problems for rail travel in Wales today, with several routes blocked by the water.
Commuters have been warned their journeys will take significantly longer than normal today, and to check their entire journey is still possible before setting off.
National Rail warns services across the entire Transport for Wales network could be cancelled, delayed by an hour, or revised.
The routes affected by flooding are:

- Wrexham General – Shotton
- Wolverhampton – Shrewsbury
