With snow in Calgary’s forecast for next week, this may be the last weekend to get out and enjoy the sunshine.

Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival
Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival is one of Alberta’s largest food and adult beverage events. The festival will offer a variety of fine wines, spirits and craft beers as well as non-alcoholic options. In addition to food and beverage offerings, experts will be hosting various workshops and seminars.

Ghost Teas at Heritage Park
Beginning with a one-hour ghost tour through Heritage Park, this family-friendly activity will explore ghost stories and unexplained happenings of the park, followed by Halloween-themed snacks including finger sandwiches, pastries and more.

Radical Reptiles
Capitol Hill Community Association is hosting a free Halloween-themed gathering featuring Calgary Reptile Parties. Visitors will be able to meet toads, snakes, scorpions and more. The all-ages event is free with a non-perishable food donation, but online registration is recommended so reptile handlers can be prepared.

Jade Turner at Studio Bell
Award-winning Canadian musician Jade Turner will be performing at SiriusXM and the National Music Centre’s presentation of EQ Live at Studio Bell. Turner is a 27-time Manitoba Country Music Award nominee and member of the Misipawistik Cree Nation, and took home Best Country Album at the Indigenous Music Awards (2017). The showcase will also feature Sacha, Hailey Benedict and Ashley Ghostkeeper.

Stories with Sheldon First Rider
This weekend, Blackfoot Elder Sheldon First Rider will be speaking at The Confluence, sharing stories from Blackfoot culture in this intimate one-hour program. Each month, Sheldon speaks on a different topic, covering everything from mythology and food to history and spirituality. October’s topic is cultural narratives and spiritual symbolism to the Blackfoot people.
