Garrett Wilson posts fiery message after Jets’ mammoth Davante Adams trade

Garrett Wilson is fired up.

Not long after news broke Tuesday that the Jets are finalizing a trade for Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, the third-year Jets wideout posted an electrifying message on X.

“We gotta GO, and we gotta do it NOW!” Wilson wrote shortly before Tuesday.

The Jets are in win-now mode, especially after Monday’s crushing 23-20 loss to the rival Bills at home, which dropped Gang Green to 2-4 on the season.

A reinforcement in the form of Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, was revealed hours after the loss.

In New York, Adams will join a talented, albeit crowded wide-receiver room that also includes Allen Lazard and Mike Williams, among others.

Wilson, the Jets’ 10th overall pick in 2022, is atop the depth chart and leads the receiving corps in both targets (67) and receptions (41), according to ESPN.

In Weeks 5 and 6, he and Rodgers connected 21 times for 208 yards and two touchdowns.

Wilson had eight receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown against the Bills.

The 24-year-old wideout wasn’t the only Jet who publicly reacted to Tuesday’s bombshell.

When making his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers was joined by Adams, his friend and former Packers teammate, and celebrated the news.

“Obviously really excited,” Rodgers said. “Davante is a phenomenal player and a dear friend.”

Rodgers and Adams first joined forces in 2015 when the Packers selected the wide receiver out of Fresno State with the 53rd overall pick in the NFL draft.

Adams was traded to the Raiders in 2022 and signed a five-year, $141 million extension.

The Raiders will receive a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-round pick based on performance and the trade is pending a physical.

The Jets will visit the Steelers on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 7.
