Stanley ‘Wicked’ cups nearly led to ‘brawl’ between Target customers: ‘People went crazy’

These Stanley cups are so “Popular,” they’re causing a commotion at Target.

A new, limited-edition collection in collaboration with the upcoming movie “Wicked” hit the big-box store’s shelves on Oct. 13, and they immediately defied gravity, flying off the shelves and creating pandemonium.

One video said that “people went crazy” and claimed there was “nearly a brawl” as customers rushed to get their hands on the beloved cups, which come in 40-ounce and 20-ounce sizes in either Glinda pink or Elphaba green, colors named after characters in the film played by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, respectively.

A group of people can be seen running through a Target in St. Louis, Missouri, as they searched for the highly anticipated display — and the person speaking in the video claimed that someone actually tried to yank a cup away from her child.

“Did somebody grab something out of your hand? Because they tried to grab something out of my child’s hand,” the user said.

One young man on camera said he was running when someone tried to take a cup out of his hand, and another woman held up her hand to reveal that she snatched up three Glinda pink cups and one Elphaba green one.

As customers grabbed their cups, the nearly empty shelves were seen with no more green one and just one more batch of the pink variety.

Commenters were appalled by the “insane” scene.

“It’s … a cup,” one person said.

“I get so embarrassed now with my 1 Stanley, I don’t want ppl to think I’m one of the crazy ones,” another wrote.

“Having so many in your cart is insane. I would take them out just to pass them to other people,” someone added.

The cups are also available to purchase on Target’s website. The 40-ounce Quencher in both “Elphaba” and “Glinda” is on sale for $55, while the 20-ounce in either color is $35.

“Wicked” will be released in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22.

This isn’t the first time a must-have Stanley Tumbler has caused a commotion at Target stores.

Earlier this year, the popular brand released a limited-edition Valentine’s Day Stanley, and Target stores turned into a scene of chaos.

One frenzied TikTok video showed customers pushing and shoving to get their hands on them.

The exclusive collection, which came in Cosmo Pink and Target Red, was only available at Target, and according to the video poster, they “sold out in less than four minutes.”
