It’s not a good day to be Bow Wow.
The “Bounce With Me” rapper, 37, is facing backlash for complaining on a podcast that Sean “Diddy” Combs isn’t hosting parties anymore following his arrest for alleged sex trafficking and racketeering.
“It seems unreal at times,” Bow Wow said about Combs’ legal troubles on the Oct. 10 episode of the “More To The Story with Rocsi Diaz” podcast.
“Me and Jermaine [Dupri] spoke about and I was like, ‘I never thought we would see him in this position. Ever,’ ” Bow Wow added. “He’s like the gatekeeper to the game.”
Bow Wow (whose real name is Shad Moss) then noted how Combs, 54, didn’t throw afterparties for the BET Awards in June and the BET Hip Hop Awards on Oct. 8.
“The past two, they just didn’t feel right ’cause there was no motion, there was no parties, there was nowhere to go,” he explained.
Host Rocsi Diaz clarified that Bow Wow was talking about Combs’ star-studded music industry parties, and not the “Freak Offs” mentioned in the bombshell indictment against Combs.
“I’m separating. I’m talking about him as the artist, the person,” Bow Wow said to Diaz, 42, about Combs. “How monumental and how important he was to the culture. I said, ‘Jermaine, there’s no parties.’ Every year he [had the parties]. And you feel it. It’s like a hole. It’s like, damn.”
“He was such a gatekeeper for the liquor in the clubs,” the “F9” star continued. “He was everything hip hop. So for that to die out, you just never would’ve thought. Especially when you look at somebody as somebody you study. Somebody you idolize.”
“It’s sad and it’s messed up that we got to witness this in this time. It’s f–ked up,” Bow Wow said.
Bow Wow’s comments about Combs’ parties sparked major online backlash.
“I bet a lot of celebs just wanna continue partying with Diddy and don’t gaf about victims. Bow Wow just the one celeb tone deaf enough to say it out loud,” one person said on X (formerly Twitter).
“Diddy party withdrawals is crazy work lol,” another tweet read.
“Why would he say this??” somebody else asked.
A different X user tweeted, “Does he not know what he’s in jail for?”
A fifth person added, “Considering current circumstances to be saying this is wild.”
The Post has reached out to Bow Wow’s rep for comment.
Combs was arrested on Sept. 16 in New York and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In an unsealed indictment against Combs, federal prosecutors claim that the hip-hop star hosted “freak off” parties where women were lured and coerced into engaging in sexual performances with male sex workers. The parties were allegedly recorded, providing the famous music mogul with material he could use to blackmail and coerce his victims.
Combs notoriously threw many publicized lavish gatherings over the years, including his star-studded Hamptons White Party that Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Drake, Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and more A-listers have been to.
However, there’s no evidence to suggest any of the stars knew about or participated in the “freak off” performances.
In a 1999 “Entertainment Tonight” interview, Combs predicted his wild parties would “probably” land him in jail.
“They won’t even give me a permit for the parties. And they don’t want me to throw the parties no more,” he said. “You’re going to hear about my parties. They gonna be shutting them down. They gonna probably be arresting me – doing all types of crazy things just because we want to have a good time.”
Combs is behind bars at a federal detention facility in Brooklyn while awaiting trial.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
