King Charles makes major change to his youth charity

King Charles’s youth charity in the UK has officially changed its name from today and new branding has also been unveiled.

For almost 50 years it has been called The Prince’s Trust but it will now be known as the The King’s Trust after other entities across the world transitioned to the name in April.

The new branding for the trust has been created by designer James Sommerville.

It includes a logo with a red background behind a white crown.

James said the new logo honours the King and is a symbol of the charity’s ‘connection and community’.

He also said it is an ‘honour’ and a ‘privilege’ to be behind the rebranding.

It also has a new tagline that says: ‘Working for young people’.

Chair Alison Brittain said the rebrand marks an ‘exciting new chapter’ for the trust.

She said: ‘As The King’s Trust continues to work for young people in the UK and around the world, we are as committed to supporting young people to build the skills and confidence they need for work and ultimately a brighter future.’

Charles did hope that William and Harry would eventually take over the charity that he set up in 1976.

But instead William is focussing on issues like homelessness and mental health and being the heir to the throne.

The switch in the name to The King’s Trust means Charles is instead keeping it under his name.

He first launched the trust to help disadvantaged young people with getting into employment and launching their own businesses.

Today it has become one of the UK’s leading youth organisations.

To date it has helped more than 1.3 million young people and has celebrity ambassadors including Gareth Southgate and Ant and Dec.
