Hurricane updates
Florida is still reeling from the one-two punch of hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Recovery efforts continue in storm-battered communities in central Florida, where President Joe Biden surveyed the devastation Sunday. Biden said he was thankful the damage from Milton was not as severe as officials had anticipated. But he said it was still a “cataclysmic” event for people caught in the path of the hurricane, which has been blamed for at least 11 deaths.
While recovery efforts are gaining steam, a full rebound will take far longer.
Meanwhile, residents unable to move back into their damaged homes were making other arrangements.
