2025 Volkswagen Taos pricing starts under $30,000 in Canada

The refreshed VW Taos gets updated technology and more power, all at an affordable starting price

  • 2025 VW Taos pricing to start at $29,795 for FWD variant, $31,795 for base AWD
  • For that money, the 2025 Volkswageb Taos gets updated tech and more power
  • It’s expected to arrive at Canadian dealerships later this year

Well, unfortunately and despite that headline, you can’t actually walk out of a Volkswagen dealership with a 2025 Taos for under $30k, because destination fees ($2,100) and taxes still have to be added on top. But a starting price of $29,795 makes that “under-$30k” boast technically true, and is still almost a steal in today’s automotive market, with average new-car pricing hitting over $60,000.

For 2025, the Volkswagen Taos gets a pretty hefty refresh that adds more power, updated technology, and even some new exterior styling, so it’s no surprise the Taos sees a slight bump in price from 2024’s model lineup, with AWD (VW’s 4Motion) trims adding a couple thousand to each trim. The trims and 2025 Canadian pricing are as follows (before destination fees and taxes):

  • Trendline FWD: $29,795
  • Trendline AWD: $31,795
  • Comfortline AWD: $35,295
  • Comfortline Black Edition AWD: $36,995
  • Highline AWD: $38,995

The base Trendline comes with front-wheel-drive, but as previously mentioned, adding $2,000 gets you the AWD version that comes with standard black roof rails, heated steering wheel and heated front seats, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Safety and driver assistance features include blind-spot monitoring and rear traffic alert, as well as adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.

Bumping up to the Trendline trim gets you leatherette seating in Titan Black or Mistral. Comfortline models get silver roof rails, remote start, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, and for an additional $1,200, a panoramic glass roof can be optioned. The Comfortline Black Edition features, you guessed it, black trim, as well as interior ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof. The top Highline trim — starting at $38,995 — includes ventilated front seats, road-sign recognition, and more.

The 2025 Volkswagen Taos is expected to be in Canadian dealerships later this year.
