Haason Reddick dumped by agency as ludicrous Jets holdout takes another twist

The weird Haason Reddick contract holdout just got weirder.

CAA, Reddick’s agency, has parted ways with the disgruntled defensive end, a source confirmed.

The Jets have felt all along that Reddick’s agent wanted to get a deal done but Reddick did not.

Reddick’s holdout has now cost him about $9 million.

It is one of the strangest contract holdouts anyone can remember around the NFL.

The Jets traded for Reddick at the end of March, acquiring him from the Eagles for a 2026 conditional third-round pick.

Reddick came to Florham Park for a physical and virtual press conference but has not been back since.

He requested a trade in August, but Jets general manager Joe Douglas said immediately the Jets would not trade him.

The Jets have repeatedly said they would welcome Reddick whenever he shows up.

Jets owner Woody Johnson was the latest to say that this week.

But Reddick has shown no desire to end the contract standoff.

The Jets have managed 18 sacks without him, led by second-year defensive end Will McDonald’s six sacks.

If Reddick does not report at all this season, his contract will toll and the Jets will retain his rights in 2025.

Reddick was due to make $14.25 million in the last year of the contract he signed with the Eagles.

But he has already forfeited five game checks in addition to the fines he racked up for missing training camp and minicamp.
