Jerry Seinfeld wasn’t only cheering on the Mets during Wednesday’s NLDS clincher at Citi Field.
The world-famous comedian was approached by a fellow Mets fan mid-game with a request, prompting Seinfeld, who is Jewish and an outspoken supporter of Israel, to deliver a message.
“Jerry, my brother is watching from the Gaza border, can I get a video for him?” the anonymous person asked in a video that went viral on social media. “He’s on the Gaza border, he’s staying up late to watch.”
To which Seinfeld, donning a Mets hat and sweatshirt from what appeared to be a suite at Citi Field, replied, “Let’s go IDF!”
It’s far from the first time Seinfeld has been outspoken about his pro-Israel views.
In December of 2023, Seinfeld, who worked on a kibbutz in Israel as a teenager, visited Gaza and met with families of victims being held hostage by Hamas.
The 70-year-old actor has previously said he will always stand with Israel and the Jewish people.
In May, a group of pro-Palestine students walked out of Duke University’s commencement ceremony in protest of Seinfeld being a guest speaker for his support of Israel.
A month later, an anti-Israel heckler interrupted a live show of Seinfeld’s in Australia, which he brushed off with a joke.
“We have a genius, ladies and gentlemen. He solved the Middle East!” Seinfeld said.
Seinfeld will likely be in attendance once again during the NLCS when his Amazin’s take on either the Dodgers or Padres for a trip to the World Series.
