Mets fans go nuts, sing loudly in unison for Francisco Lindor’s walk-up song

Francisco Lindor got his wish in the bottom of the first inning on Tuesday when he stepped up to the plate at Citi Field for Game 3 of the NLDS against the Phillies.

The Mets shortstop’s walk-up song, “My Girl” by The Temptations blared over the PA system, and fans started to sing along together — loudly.

As it hit the chorus, the 40,000-plus fans inside the building continued to sing along in unison.

The fun moment was just one of several warm welcomes the Mets star received during Tuesday’s playoff game.

Lindor heard chants of “MVP” when he was introduced pregame, and he made a crisp backhanded play on a Bryce Harper hard liner to end the top of the first inning to electrify the crowd.

The Mets star was asked previously about hearing the fans singing along to his walk-up song during the postseason, saying he had a feeling it could get loud.

“I know if I don’t get that timeout the fans are going to continue to sing the song,” Lindor told reporters. “I think it’s going to be a good vibe. I’m excited, like I said, I’m really excited. I can’t wait to hear my walk-up song. Damn, it’s going to be a special moment for sure. A special day for everybody.”

The Mets took an early lead in Game 3, which sent Citi Field into even more of a frenzy than it had already been in.

First baseman Pete Alonso sent a solo blast 385 feet into the right field stands to put the Mets in front in the bottom of the second, 1-0.
