80s rock band issues urgent appeal after drummer’s daughter, 16, goes missing

The 16-year-old daughter of The Flaming Lips guitarist, Steven Drozd, has gone missing in Washington as band members share online plea for help in the search.

The teen, Charlotte Drozd (also known as Bowie) vanished in Seattle, Washington, near the Space Needle after being last spotted on the city’s monorail.

In a missing poster posted to his 259k followers by lead vocalist Wayne Coyne, and reposted to the band’s official account, she is described as a five foot seven girl with brown hair and eyes who is ‘possibly headed to downtown Seattle’.

‘URGENT!!! Please help if you can !!! Steven’s daughter ( she is 16 years old ) is missing !!! She was last seen at the Space Needle early on Saturday….I’ll post more info as soon s I can,’ he wrote in the caption.

The father, Steven, commented under the post: ‘Thank you Wayne for posting. We don’t know what to do’ as fans rallied to support them in the search.

Hollywood star Jack Black also reposted the missing poster to his Instagram story.

Charlotte, who weighs about 130 pounds, was wearing khaki shorts and pink shoes when she disappeared, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The band are currently opening for alt-rock band Weezer on their North American leg and stopped in Seattle on Friday, a day before the daughter went missing.

The development comes at the same time as the shocking news that 17-year-old musical prodigy Nell Smith – best known for her work on Flaming Lips Where the Viaduct Looms – had died in a car accident, as announced by her label.
