2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV ups range, offers new trim

The Max Range battery pack provides 792 kilometres of range on the Work Truck trim, according to General Motors

  • 2025 Chevy Silverado EV gets new battery-pack options, including a Max Range offering a claimed 792 km
  • There’s also a new trim, LT, which comes with a host of nifty features, including available Super Cruise
  • Deliveries of the 2025-model-year truck should start in Canada by the end of 2024

The WT trim comes with three battery choices, including Standard Range (no figures released yet); Extended Range (679 km); and Max Range (792 km). LT is available with just the Extended Range battery pack (657 km). And the RST offers a choice between Extended Range (682 km) and Max Range (740 km). (Note: all range-figure estimates are supplied by GM.)

What is the new LT trim on the 2025 Silverado EV?

This all-new trim offers more than 650 kilometres of range; 300-kilowatt DC public fast-charging capability; 765 lb-ft torque and 645 horsepower available in Wide Open Watts mode; a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 lbs; and a max payload of 1,800 lbs.

Unique design features include special lower front fascia, up-level exterior lighting, illuminated front gold bowtie, standard 18-inch aluminum wheels, and standard Multi-Flex Tailgate. Cabin features include standard 17.7-inch-diagonal centre infotainment screen, paired with an 11.3-inch-diagonal driver informational centre.

Throw in the Premium package and you lose a bit of range — down to 628 km — but get a multi-flex midgate, which offers up to 10 feet and 10 inches of load floor storage when paired with the multi-flex tailgate. You also get Super Cruise capability (a three-year trial is included) and 22-inch machined-face aluminum wheels.

The Work Truck and RST trims get new battery-pack options, but remain unchanged from 2024 other than that.

When will the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado be available in Canada?

Deliveries of all three trims are expected to begin by the end of the year; however, there’s no word yet on pricing. The Silverado EV is assembled in North America at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan, a facility repurposed and retooled with a $2.2-billion investment devoted to EV production.
