Saskatchewan leaders’ debate between Moe, Beck set for Oct. 16

The leaders of Saskatchewan’s two main political parties are set to face off in a broadcast debate next week.

The leaders of Saskatchewan’s two main political parties are set to face off in a broadcast debate next week.

The debate, which will run from 6:05 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be aired on CBC TV and radio, CTV and Global TV, as well as their websites. The debate will also be broadcasted on the various platforms of Postmedia News (including the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and Regina Leader-Post), CPAC and Rawlco radio stations.

The location for the debate was not immediately announced.

Merelda Fiddler, an assistant professor of Indigenous communication at First Nations University of Canada, is scheduled to moderate the debate.

Regina Leader-Post and Saskatoon StarPhoenix political columnist Murray Mandryk, as well as CBC’s Adam Hunter, CTV’s Allison Bamford and Global’s Brenden Purdy, will be involved in asking questions of Moe and Beck.

The second week of campaigning started on Monday with appearances by Moe and Beck in Regina.

Election day is Oct. 28.
