Man hospitalized after being attacked in the Village

He has injuries to his upper body.

A man is in critical condition in hospital Monday morning after he was assaulted by a group of people on Ste-Catherine St. in the Village.

Montreal police said a 911 call was received around 4:30 a.m. reporting a possibly intoxicated person in crisis on Ste-Catherine St. near Atataken St.

Officers found the victim on the ground and covered in blood. Montreal police spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier said the victim was reported to have threatened several people in the area before he was attacked, suffering injuries to his upper body.

The victim’s age has yet to be established and no arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing.
