Brie Garcia has also been going through a tough time as her sister, Nikki, continues to deal with her divorce from estranged husband Artem Chigvintsev.
On the Friday episode of their “Nikki & Brie” podcast, the former WWE star — who wrestled under the name Brie Bella alongside her sister — admitted she’s “lost sleep” in recent days after having to face “trauma.”
“I have felt sadness in ways that maybe death could compare. I literally have lost sleep. I lay in my bed with my eyes open, and I think and I just think and think, and I think of so many different things….. But the major thing I think of is: How can I fix [things] and how can I help?” she explained.
Though she didn’t reveal what’s been troubling her during the episode, Brie told listeners that it wasn’t her own trauma she’s been dealing with.
“When you’re trying to hold it together, trauma is a different beast. I’ve looked at trauma in the face over the last week and it has been so hard,” she shared.
“But you realize it’s not your trauma, especially if you’re not the one dealing with it… it’s not for you to fix.”
In the most recent update to Nikki’s ongoing divorce, she was granted a restraining order against her soon-to-be ex-husband on Thursday months after he was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident in August.
In her filing, she cited the attack that took place in their Napa Valley, Calif. home, claiming the “Dancing With the Stars” alum “tackled [her] multiple times and pinned [her] to the ground while [their] child was present,” per TMZ.
The couple shares a 4-year-old son, Matteo, whom Nikki has requested full custody of.
Chigvintsev was also granted a restraining order against Nikki on Thursday. However, in his filing, he claimed Nikki was the aggressor in their heated altercation. He also showed photos of the injuries he received from her during their domestic dispute.
“Mr. Chigvintsev contacted law enforcement on 8/29/24 seeking protection from his wife’s persistent aggression,” his attorney, Ilona Antonyan, claimed in a statement.
“While he was on the phone with the police, Ms. Garcia-Colace made a pointed statement, saying, ‘Do you understand where this is going now, Artem? You just ruined my career, and you know it.’”
