Authorities fear for his life, but the bus driver suffered no injuries.

DRUMMONDVILLE — A septuagenarian cyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a bus in Drummondville, in Centre-du-Québec, Friday afternoon.

The impact would have occurred when the bus, which was travelling westbound on Raphaël-Nolet St., wanted to turn onto Lemire Blvd. heading south, said Camille Savoie, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

It was around 3:45 p.m. the MRC Drummond police officers were notified of the collision between the man and the bus.

The septuagenarian was taken to hospital and authorities fear for his life.

The bus driver suffered no injuries.

A police officer trained in collision investigation will travel to the scene to try to clarify the circumstances surrounding the event, Savoie said.
