ST-RÉMI — A 28-year-old driver was seriously injured in a collision involving three vehicles Friday afternoon in St-Rémi, in Montérégie, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reported.
Around 2 p.m., authorities were called to St-Rémi Blvd. regarding the collision. According to initial information, the 28-year-old woman “was not able to stop in time and hit another vehicle in front of her, which was preparing to make a turn,” Camille Savoie, a spokesperson for the SQ said.
Her vehicle then deviated its direction to collide head-on with a heavy truck. The driver was taken to hospital and authorities fear for her life.
A collision investigation officer was dispatched to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.
St-Rémi Blvd. was closed in both directions.
