A fire at an active encampment under the University Bridge is being investigated by Saskatoon fire crews on Friday morning.
Around 9:18 a.m. on Friday, crews responded to a reported fire at Spadina Crescent and 25th Street East, the fire department said in a news release.
The crew then put out a small fire.
A rescue truck, a high-angle rescue team and city engineers are assessing the scene for safety, the release said. The fire investigator’s examination is to begin once the area is determined to be safe.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area under the bridge while crews are on the scene.
