Rob Schneider ripped for anti-vax post after Dikembe Mutombo’s death

One outspoken actor needs to do a little bit of research before posting on social media.

Rob Schneider is being heavily criticized over a post the comedian made in the wake of the death of NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo.

Schneider took to X on Monday to share a bizarre and insensitive COVID-themed post after the NBA announced the death of the Hall of Famer.

Mutombo, a tireless advocate for his home continent of Africa, died at the age of 58 after a battle with brain cancer.

That didn’t stop Schneider from seemingly placing blame for his death on the fact that Mutombo was vaccinated against COVID-19.

Schneider dug up a 2021 tweet from Mutombo calling for individuals to be vaccinated during the pandemic and reposted it with an anti-vaccination message.

“Rest in Peace… I’m sure this is just (another) coincidence,” Schenider posted. “But I took a pass on the Jab and I’m gonna not let anyone I know (and who will Listen) get it either!”

In the video from 2021, Mutombo spoke about the importance of wearing masks and individuals doing what they can to help society moving forward.

Schneider has been vocal about his anti-vax stance on his X page, but it’s unclear why he used the eight-time NBA all-star’s death as a reason to tweet his rhetoric.

As of Wednesday, the actor’s post has been viewed more than 7 million times and has generated a lot of heat for the star of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.

“He had brain cancer. Which he got because (unlike you) he had a f***ing brain,” one user on X replied.

“Wow. Ambulance chaser celebration another human’s death from cancer. Shame on you,” another post read.

“Rob, your legitimately a terrible person for this. It doesn’t matter what your politics is. A man just passed away. A beloved icon,” a third user wrote.

Schneider didn’t take too kindly to the massive wave of replies to the post, doubling down on his anti-vax stance on Tuesday.

“Dear Fake Outrage Warriors, Save your anger for the liars who promised the jab was the only cure, that if you took it you wouldn’t ‘get covid or give it: Biden/Harris,Fauci,Maddow, Pfizer, your liberal media, the cowardly teachers union, masking 2 yr olds, Govs who closed schools,” he posted.

“Here’s some of the real heroes during covid; Dr. Peter Kory. Dr. Robert Malone and Senator Ron Johnson, Mary Holland. These are people that stood up against the lying medical establishment & helped expose the covid lies.”

Mutombo played 18 seasons in the NBA, making three all-NBA teams and winning defensive player of the year four times. He was inducted into the basketball hall of fame in 2015.

Among others, Toronto Raptors president and vice chairman Masai Ujiri gave a heart-warming tribute to the African hero during the team’s media day earlier this week.
