What the Rangers hope to get out of playing a Devils team that isn’t really in the country

There is a scene in the movie “Legends of the Fall,” in which the corrupt sheriff rides up to the ranch owned by anti-establishment and anti-government Colonel Ludlow, played by Anthony Hopkins. The sheriff is looking for a wanted man, who happens to be one of the patriarch’s ranch hands.

“What is he wanted for, Sheriff?” Ludlow asks.

“That would be of a private nature,” the sheriff replies.

“Private nature? That’s a public office you hold, isn’t it, Sheriff?” Ludlow counters, essentially kicking the law dog off his property.
