Yorkton RCMP want help locating missing inmate

Michael Mckie may be travelling to or in the Regina area, police say.

The Yorkton RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating an inmate who failed to return to a Yorkton correctional centre.

A news release sent out Friday indicates the Mounties received notice around 6 p.m. Thursday that 55-year-old Michael Mckie, who was authorized to be temporarily off site, had not returned to the facility as required.

The release notes police have been working to find him and are now asking for members of the public to report if they’ve seen the man and where.

Mckie is wanted on a warrant for being unlawfully at large.

“Michael Mckie is described as approximately 5’11 tall and 190 lbs,” the release states.

“He has blue eyes, and brown and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black hat. He has a tattoo of Bob Marley’s face on his left arm.”

The release further states that Mckie may be travelling to or in the Regina area.

Police are urging anyone who sees Mckie to not approach the man, but rather contact Yorkton RCMP by dialling 310-RCMP (7267).
