Prince Harry visited a high-end tattoo shop on the Lower East Side during his trip to the Big Apple earlier this week — leaving onlookers wondering if the rebellious royal is planning to get some ink.
The Duke of Essex rolled up to East Side Ink— a custom shop frequented by stars and A-listers — in a black SUV with his security team on Wednesday afternoon, video footage reveals.
Sporting a moss-green collared shirt with rolled up sleeves, Prince Harry briefly popped into the tattoo shop, where celebrities such as Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson have gotten ink.
While sources told Page Six, the 40-year-old party prince only stopped by the parlor to film a segment during a stunt for an upcoming project — and didn’t get inked — the shop’s management was tight lipped.
“I can’t confirm or deny anything,” shop owner Josh Lord told the Post. “We treat all our customers era as if they were royal, because to us they are. We always honor their privacy.”
Members of his security team along with an NYPD officer, who was assigned to his detail, were seen ushering the royal inside the shop and briefly congregating at the intersection of Rivington Avenue and Orchard Street, sources told Page Six.
Lord said he had no problem with the controversial royal visiting his shop.
“From everything I’ve seen [in the media] he seems like a phenomenal guy. Personally I have never spoken a bad word about him. Good luck to him and all his ventures,” he said.
The royal had been visiting the Big Apple to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives” in the city.
He was given additional security personnel after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, had a nearly “catastrophic” paparazzi car chase in New York City in May 2023.
In recent years, stars including Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Bruce Willis have been inked at the tattoo parlor.
“We’re an internationally known shop. We’ve been around for a long time,” Lord said.
