These Yankees believe they may have the best playoff roster of the Aaron Boone era. Are they right?

Aaron Boone was still freshly soaked from the champagne showers of his players when he stepped outside the visiting clubhouse at T-Mobile Park last week.

The Yankees had just clinched a playoff berth with a win over the Mariners, and Boone was asked whether this was the best team he’s had entering the playoffs during his time as manager.

“I don’t know, I hope so,” Boone said. “We’ve been pretty good a couple times. I do like our chances. You get in that tournament of 12 teams, anything can happen in the postseason. But I do like our team.”

Gerrit Cole gave a more certain answer when asked the same question.
