All residents believed to have evacuated safety, says fire department
Two homes in northeast Calgary were engulfed in flames Wednesday afternoon as firefighters were called to suppress a major fire.
Calgary Fire Department received a call Wednesday at 3:20 p.m. for a house fire on Saddletree Close in the city’s northeast, spokesperson Carol Henke said.
Fire crews arrived to find two homes full involved with fire, Henke said. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said they believed all residents evacuated safely. The department upgraded the blaze to a two-alarm fire upon arrival, meaning more resources were needed.
