Man charged after assault with a hammer on Saskatoon bus

A man is charged with aggravated assault after another man was hit with a hammer on a city bus at 23rd Street East on Monday afternoon.

A 23-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with an assault on a Saskatoon Transit bus.

Officers arrived to find an injured man, who told them he was “hit on the head with a hammer” by another man, the release said. He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

After a short search, officers found and arrested a man who matched the suspect’s description in the 200 block of First Avenue South. The release said they searched him and found a hammer.
