Saskatoon police seek help finding suspect in two stabbings

Saskatoon police have issued an arrest warrant for Dakota Douglas Halkett, 24, who is a suspect in two stabbings over the last week.

On Sept. 18, around 8:50 a.m., officers responded to a report that someone had been stabbed in the 100 block of Avenue T South, a previous police news release said.

Officers found an injured man suffering from a stab wound.

“He was treated by paramedics on scene and transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” the release said.

The suspect fled before officers arrived.

On Monday, around 11:55 p.m., officers responded to an injured person report in the 100 block of Avenue U South, a news release on Tuesday said.

When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from a stab wound.

“She was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” the release said.

Dakota Douglas Halkett, 24, is suspected in both stabbings and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, the news release said.

He is described as 5′ 10″, about 130 pounds, with short, dark hair. He was seen with a blue BMX bike in the first incident.
