Lwal Uguak returns to Alouettes after release by Tampa

The rush end had 16 defensive tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble with the Als last season.

Uguak, the Als’ first-round (seventh overall) draft choice in 2023, joined the team for practice Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s game in Ottawa. He is under contract to Montreal through 2025.

During three preseason games with Tampa, Uguak, 24, had two defensive tackles, one sack and a knockdown.

He played all games with the Alouettes last year, with 16 defensive tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. He also had 11 defensive tackles and three knockdowns in three playoff games as the Alouettes won the Grey Cup.
