The Dorian Hotel has earned the honour of inclusion in a Michelin hotel guide.

The Calgary boutique inn was given a ‘One Key’ designation in the revered guide. Similar to Michelin Stars for restaurants, Michelin Keys are for outstanding hotels, based on detailed evaluations from inspectors. The Dorion is the only Calgary hotel and one of only four in the province to have received the designation in its 2024 guide of most outstanding hotels in Canada.

“The Dorian is a hotel unlike any other – it is stylish, memorable, bold and genuine. We offer a truly one-of-a-kind and decadent escape while being in the middle of a thriving city,” said hotel general manager Ian Jones.

The Dorian Hotel is inspired by Oscar Wilde’s Picture of Dorian Gray, with literary themes throughout the hotel and a Victorian era-meets-art-deco theme in each guest room and floor.

Calgarians can get a firsthand experience at The Dorian Hotel with two upcoming events.

Then, on Sept. 28, the annual Wilde Affair features immersive experiences, entertainment, bespoke cocktails and beverages and food across three spaces in the hotel. This marquee event, now in its second year, will feature live music and a candle-lit concert.

“This year’s A Wilde Affair is a step up from our first event, with surprises around every corner, and will leave you yearning for more, in a way befitting Dorian Gray’s character,” said Jones. “It’s not your typical Saturday night out.”
