How can it get worse if you’re a Florida Gators fan? Oh, that’s how.
ESPN color commentator Jesse Palmer, who is the host of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” put a male Florida fan in the friend zone while on the broadcast for the Gators’ 33-20 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday.
Palmer roasted the fan’s mustache and the blue and orange overalls he was wearing with no undershirt while he was with a group of girls in the stands.
“He’s got a mustache … I’m going to make a bold prediction,” Palmer, who starred as a quarterback in the late 90s for the Gators, said with two minutes left in the fourth quarter as he described the fan.
“I’m gonna say that guy’s in the friend zone.”
ESPN play-by-play announcer Joe Tessitore couldn’t stop laughing.
“Listen, you are a top analyst. I’m just gonna say it, you know how to give analysis,” Tessitore said.
“Years of relationship and dating, I see it up close and personal at my other job,” Palmer explained, referring to “The Bachelor” on ABC.
“I think, I’m gonna say, he’s a good listener.”
“Bachelor Nation is in desperate need of this kind of analysis, Katie,” Tessitore said to sideline reporter Katie George.
“Don’t kick a man while he’s down Jesse! Leave him alone,” George added.
“No! I think he’s a great guy,” Palmer said. “I don’t think he’s a bad guy. I’m just saying, I don’t think he’s dating anyone in the shot right now.”
The takedown occurred when ESPN cameras focused on him and the group of girls, who wore Gators blue and orange colors, including two dressed in the same overalls.
The loss to Texas A&M dropped Florida to 1-2 after they were shellacked by Miami, 41-17, in their opener. The Gators’ only win was against Samford.
The video went viral on social media, and many couldn’t help but weigh in.
“No other choice but to transfer to Florida St after this,” someone wrote on X.
“This is wild, there is no coming back from this. Dude is going to have a new outfit, gym routine, food plan and new friend group,” one person wrote on X.
“Jesse Palmer is so under appreciated,” another added.
Florida next faces Mississippi State on Sept. 21.
