Heroes, zeros from Jets’ Week 2 win over Titans: Breece Hall helped ignite offense

Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Jets’ 24-17 win over the Titans on Sunday:

Hero

Aaron Rodgers didn’t post prolific numbers (18 of 30, 176 yards, 2 TDs, no turnovers), but he calmly led the team through a series of tough patches on offense and ultimately engineered the game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, going 5-for-5 for 60 yards.

Unsung Hero

Jets running back Breece Hall produced 114 yards of offense — 62 rushing and 52 receiving to lead the team in both categories.

His highlight play was a terrific leaping 26-yard TD reception that put the Jets ahead, 14-10 in the third quarter, their first lead of the game.

Zero

Titans quarterback Will Levis gave the Jets life when he made an ill-advised attempt to lateral the ball to running back Tony Pollard in the second quarter inside the Jets 10-yard line.

Levis finished 19-for-28 for 192 yards with one TD, one INT and the lost fumble.

Key Stat

Will McDonald recorded three sacks after entering the game with three career sacks in 16 games.

Quote of the Day

“These are really important games late in the season when you’re trying to get in the playoffs and you’re looking back. It was a hot day, short week, [against a] very good defense. Start off really slow, but finding a way to win, that’s what really good teams do.’’

— Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers
