Nine goals in the game ties a goal-scoring record that was first set when the Huskies defeated the Lethbridge Pronghorns in 2010.

With a pair of hat tricks, the University of Saskatchewan women’s soccer team tied a program record on Saturday, defeating the visiting Winnipeg Wesmen 9-0.

The Huskies didn’t take long to get on the board and were out to a commanding 4-0 lead only 14 minutes into action, thanks to two goals apiece from Tia Lecox and Marie Kilcher.

Huskie goalkeeper Nadia Kalyar made three saves in the game to cement the shutout and help Saskatchewan improve to a 2-0-1 record, good enough for second place in the Canada West Prairie Division.

Nine goals in the game ties a goal-scoring record that was first set when the Huskies defeated the Lethbridge Pronghorns in 2010.
