Tyrod Taylor connects for lone touchdown pass during Jets’ scrimmage

Observations from the Jets’ training camp practice on Saturday.

An impressive dude

Robert Saleh said Aaron Rodgers “looks like he never missed any time” following Achilles surgery and called him “an impressive dude” after the returning quarterback ran more than 40 plays during the Jets’ green-and-white scrimmage in sweltering conditions Saturday in Florham Park.

Not as impressive

Not much to complain about, although center Joe Tippmann did airmail one shotgun snap over Rodgers’ head and running back Isaiah Davis lost a fumble.

Rodgers report

Rodgers led three drives that resulted in field goals against the Jets’ first-string defense.

He unofficially completed 19 of 30 passes for around 210 yards.

Caught my eye

The lone touchdown pass during the scrimmage was a downfield connection between backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jason Brownlee.

Offensive tackle Tyron Smith (rest) also did not practice.
