Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin pepper-sprayed by police after allegedly resisting arrest

Wes Scantlin, the lead singer of Puddle of Mudd, engaged in a stand-off with police in Burbank, Calif., earlier this week after he allegedly resisted their arrest, law enforcement confirms to Page Six.

The “Blurry” singer, 52, was pulled over in his Hummer H2 for a traffic violation Wednesday when Burbank police discovered an outstanding warrant for another crime, according to TMZ.

Officers had reportedly been searching for Scantlin over allegations that he had a weapon at an airport.

When police asked the “Psycho” singer to exit his vehicle, he allegedly refused, prompting cops to call in a “crisis negotiator.”

Since Scantlin allegedly continued to resist, he was reportedly pepper-sprayed by officers on the scene.

By around 4 a.m. local time, SWAT members were forced to break the rocker’s car window and shoot “non-lethal” pepper balls to get him to surrender.

Scantlin was reportedly then taken to a hospital to flush out his eyes. Per TMZ, he is now doing “OK.”

The “Stoned” singer was ultimately arrested for his outstanding warrant and the new resisting arrest charge. He has a court date scheduled for Aug. 20.

Scantlin could not immediately be reached for comment.

The “Drift & Die” singer has had several run-ins with the law in the past.

In 2012, he was arrested following an altercation with a flight attendant, and in August 2015, Page Six reported that Scantlin had been booked for his second DUI in a month.

The “Control” singer was also charged with possession of marijuana at the time.

According to Metal Injection, a rock news outlet, Scantlin previously suffered many onstage meltdowns, including once accusing someone of stealing his house and threatening to call the mafia on a sound tech.
