A 42-year-old man is facing charges after police responded to a robbery call on Thursday night.

A police news release issued on Friday said officers were called at around 7 p.m. to the area of Tenth Street East and Broadway Avenue, where they learned the suspect had also tried to stab someone before fleeing the scene.

The police force’s air support plane eventually found a suspect walking on a path along the river near Saskatchewan Crescent, and a K9 unit was then directed to the area where the arrest was made.

Along with the charges related to the attempted stabbing, the man is also charged with uttering threats, obstructing police and failing to comply with release conditions.
