DeAndre Hopkins out at least a month with injury in Titans gut-punch

The Titans might have to start this upcoming season without their best wide receiver.

DeAndre Hopkins suffered a strained knee this week and is expected to be out for four to six weeks, according to an NFL media on Thursday.

Hopkins, now 32, led the Titans with 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

This offseason, the Titans signed former Jaguars and Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley to a four-year deal worth up to $92 million.

“To have him here and be able to go steal him from a division rival certainly makes it a little sweeter in that regard,” Titans head coach Brian Callahan told ESPN’s Adam Schefter earlier this offseason.

“I believe in everything he’s about. He’s a pro’s pro,” Callahan said of Ridley. “He’s got real talent. He’s one of the better route-runners I’ve been around.”

Tennessee also added former Bengals wideout Tyler Boyd this offseason.

Treylon Burks, whom the Titans selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft after dealing A.J. Brown, had just 16 catches for 221 yards in 11 games last season.

Quarterback Will Levis is expected to be the Titans’ opening-week starter, with former Steelers signal-caller Mason Rudolph as the backup.

The Titans open their season on the road against the Bears on Sept. 8.
