As a child, I wasn’t allowed sugary cereal like Cookie Crisp or Nesquik, which is perhaps why as an adult I can’t get enough of the stuff.

I want to try every new box of cereal I come across and brands like Kellogg’s offer some really fun breakfast options.

But the food manufacturers might find themselves in hot water with some of my fellow cereal lovers soon, as they’ve just confirmed some very upsetting news.

The brand revealed on social media that , after several fans asked where they had gone. A user named @moogyboobles on X was keen to find some as they hadn’t come across a box in a long time.

A spokesperson on the @kelloggshelp_uk account replied: ‘I’m sorry to disappoint you but this product has been discontinued. Perhaps I can interest you in our two new Coco Pops varieties, Coco Pops Mega Pops and Coco Pops Loops.’

Reviews online suggest this will be a devastating blow for many, as the breakfast item, which contains crispy cocoa maize balls and multi-grain pillows lined with a chocolate flavour filling, has been hailed as ‘the best cereal’.

One five star review on ’s website says: ‘The best cereal I’ve had in my life. These changed my experience with breakfast in the mornings. I wake up 10 minutes earlier everyday to eat these delights! I 100% recommend to everyone. So much better than Coco Pops. Yum.’

While another confessed they loved the cereal so much they were finding it ‘hard to live without’ them. A third said: ‘Love this cereal so much’.

Elsewhere online, shoppers have branded it the ‘perfect chocolate cereal treat’, and said they were ‘excellent’. A number of X users also agreed it was the ‘best cereal ever made’ and the superior Coco Pops product.

For those looking to stock up before they are gone completely, the Tesco website appears to still have 350g boxes in stock for £2.50. The item is listed as ‘unavailable’ on the Asda website at present though.

And this isn’t the only cereal that’s been axed of late, Kellogg’s also recently confirmed that All-Bran Golden Crunch had been given the boot.

In a post in May, @gladplodder contacted the cereal giant to find out why it was ‘impossible’ to find his breakfast fave at the shops.

They responded: ‘I’m sorry to disappoint you but this product is set to be discontinued. I would recommend our brand-new Kellogg’s Special K High Fibre Crunch Golden Clusters as a suitable alternative.’

And Corn Flakes fans were saddened to hear that the chocolate flavour, which returned to shelves earlier this year, had been recalled in May after fears it was ‘unsafe to eat’.

The company revealed the cereal could contain ‘hard lumps’ that cause dental damage or trouble swallowing.

The Food Standards Agency asked shoppers to throw away their 450g packs of the cereal and get a full refund.

Kellanova, the company which makes Kellogg’s cereals in Europe, said: ‘This voluntary consumer recall relates to Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour cereal which is a new product on sale since January 2024 and available in Tesco, One Stop, Londis, Budgens, Booker Premier stores and Booker Cash & Carry outlets.

‘Following some consumer complaints, the company found that a small proportion of boxes could contain hard lumps of cereal that do not break down when eaten with milk.

‘This means there is a minimal risk these hard lumps could potentially cause dental damage or be a choking hazard.’

Discontinued products that have made a comeback:

Those who love the Kellogg’s classics also have a few more days left to claim a free bowl of cereal.

The brand hasteamed up with Morrisons supermarket to launch breakfast clubs in all of its cafés nationwide.

The club is open to anyone and everyone (adults and children alike), you simply need to ask staff for a Kellogg’s breakfast in any of the 398 Morrisons cafés.

As part of this, you’ll be able to choose from a free bowl of iconic Kellogg’s cereal such as Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, or Coco Pops, with either dairy or non-dairy milk.

Customers can also enjoy a free portion of fruit with their breakfast, including apples, oranges, bananas, and pears.

The breakfast club will run all day, every day until August 4 while stocks last, helping families as the summer holidays begin and many subsidised breakfast clubs are unavailable.

It follows new research commissioned by Kellogg’s which found that 45% of parents are worried about the cost of feeding their children during the time off school.
