The MLB trade deadline featured a bunch of deals this year… but no superstars moved.
While Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman were busy breaking down the flurry of players that moved from pretenders to contenders and prospects going from contenders to pretenders, we didn’t see major names go.
We did see the likes of Tanner Scott, Jack Flaherty, Bryan De La Cruz and other impactful names get dealt.

- YANKEES DEADLINE: Both the Mets and Yankees made complementary deals to help their rosters. Jazz Chisholm has made an immediate impact, already having two two-homer games. Mark Leiter Jr. was a strong bullpen add and essentially met Austin Wells on the field in his debut.
- METS DEADLINE: The Mets knew their weakness and it was the bullpen. They went out and added some niece bullpen pieces. Is Paul Blackburn the same as Adrian Houser?
- DEADLINE WINNERS & LOSERS: Marlins acquired a ton of good prospects. They got a nice return for Trevor Rogers. They got a haul for Tanner Scott from the Padres. The Dodgers did not give up a lot to get Jack Flaherty and Michael Kopech. They fortified their offense and defense up the middle with Tommy Edman and Kevin Kiermaier. Orioles could have done more with the prospects they do have. The Twins needed to protect themselves with a starting pitcher.
- HIT/ERROR: Why did the Angels not sell off anyone? Luis Rengifo could have got them a nice return. They didn’t make moves despite being one of the worst teams in baseball.
