Malachi Corley making the most of his Jets training camp chance

Observations from Jets training camp on Wednesday:

Malachi high

Rookie WR Malachi Corley had his best practice of training camp. The highlight was a touchdown catch from Aaron Rodgers during a red-zone period. Corley is getting more reps with Xavier Gipson (leg) out.

On D down side

After two strong days, the defense looked like it was sleepwalking Tuesday. The offense had its way during a practice heavy on red-zone periods. There were receivers and running backs running wide open through the defense.

Caught my eye

One defender who made a big play was DT Quinnen Williams. He intercepted a Rodgers pass that looked like it was tipped by fellow DT Javon Kinlaw.

Rodgers Report

Rodgers went 9-for-11 during team drills. He threw six touchdown passes, but that is a little misleading. All of the touchdown passes came in red-zone periods. Still, Rodgers was on point and made some pretty throws. His only interception was the tipped ball that Williams pulled in.

Injury report

CB Michael Carter II exited practice with an ankle injury after a collision. Coach Robert Saleh said he is not concerned about it being long term. WR Allen Lazard did not practice with what Saleh called “camp soreness.” CB Brandin Echols returned to practice after missing a few days.
