Montreal Canadiens sign Kaiden Guhle to a six-year, $33.3M extension

The young defenceman is one of the foundational pieces of the team’s rebuild.

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Kaiden Guhle to a six-year contract extension, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old defenceman, who was entering the final season of his entry-level contract, will earn an average annual salary of US$5.55 million over the course of the deal, which kicks in at the start of the 2025-26 season.

One of the foundational pieces of the Canadiens’ rebuild, Guhle has embraced a leadership role in the team’s young defence.
